Welcome 2013!

I've been a bit naughty and haven't blogged for a little while. I just don't know where the time has gone. After the West Country Quilt show I was somewhat panic stricken by the fact that Christmas was just around the corner and I hadn't bought a single present! I got there in the end, presents were bought, wrapped, received and enjoyed. My little boy had great fun ripping up the paper and the whole festive period was thoroughly enjoyable.
I also turned 30! For a while I felt a bit weird about it, its kind of a land mark. I am a fully fledged grown up and there is no turning back haha!
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year and are looking forward to lots of lovely sewing projects in 2013!
So back to the West Country Quilt Show...... We had a really good trip. As it was our first show there was lots to learn and we met some lovely people both customers and traders who were very supportive. The show was a little quiet, the appalling weather didn't help with so much of the west country experiencing flooding. It was a very positive experience and we came back buzzing with ideas for our next show which was supposed to be Exeter in April.

But then I got a phone call.! A stand had become available at Ardingly at the end of January. I had been pestering the poor lady at Grosvenor Shows but to be honest i didn't think a stand would become available as things book up a long time in advance. So now its full steam ahead to get read for Ardingly in a fortnights time! Ahhhhh!

I am busy working on some lovely new kits and hopefully they will be making their debut at the Ardingly show. I had planned on doing this for April so I am working all hours of the day and night to get everything ready.

I also have some fantastic new fabrics on the way including these lovely little fellas! They haven't arrived yet but should be here in the next few days so don't forget to check out the website!

Also our new class programme begins on January 20th and spaces are starting to fill up so don't miss out! all details can be found at www.thelittlehouseofpatchwork.co.uk

West Country Quilt Show 3 days to go...

Later this week The Little House of Patchwork will be heading to The Bath and West Showground for our first ever quilt show, I am both excited and a little terrified.
I've finally finished cutting fat quarters and tieing up pretty little fabric bundles. Tonight I'm trying to get the sign for our stand finished as well as organise things for work when I return.
I'm currently tripping over boxes full of bolts of fabric all ready to go and the other half is working hard on building the stand. fingers crossed for a good three days. If anyone would like some tickets let me know as i have a few freebies, its on 29th, 30th Nov and 1st Dec!

Networking and Spreading the word..

Things are very busy at  The Little House of Patchwork as we prepared for our first show at the end of November. Every day I think of something new we need to do and as we count down the weeks I think it is definitely time to write a 'to do' list.
The other half has been busy constructing some fab shelves so that we can display approx 150 bolts of fabric at the show. They look great
I'm busy cutting fat quarters ready for our stand and umming and ahhing about whether we have enough fabric and whether we are missing anything crucial.
On another hand I've been working hard on the social network side of things and had some hopefully great advice from a lovely lady at Chicken Shed Gifts on how to use Facebook and Twitter to increase awareness and hopefully in time, sales will increase too. Have had lots of new 'likes' on Facebook today so thats a bonus!
I'm now seeing spots as have spent this evening cutting an awful lot of fat quarters of spotty fabric!
Time for bed I think
Night!

New Weekend Class Dates

I've decided to add some weekend class dates over the next couple of months. I've always found it frustrating when I've wanted to do a class but its on when I'm at work! So I've decided to add weekend dates for my classes. If you fancy escaping from the housework etc and having some 'me' time why not book a class!
Look forward to seeing you
